Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how Star India Travel (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information in connection with this website, starindiatravel.com, and the travel management services we offer. We are a travel management company based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

This policy applies only to this website and to enquiries you make with us through it. It does not apply to the practices of companies we do not own or control, or to individuals we do not employ or manage — including the third-party services described below.

Information We Collect

We have reviewed this website directly to determine what is actually collected. Based on that review:

  • Contact details you give us directly. If you call or email us using the phone number or email address published on this site, we receive whatever information you choose to share — typically your name, contact details and travel enquiry details.
  • Information submitted through our Calendly scheduling widget. Our Contact page (and Home page) embed a Calendly scheduling tool so you can book a call with our team. When you use it, the information you enter — typically your name, email address, and the date/time you select — is submitted directly to Calendly, LLC, not stored on our website’s own server. Calendly then shares your booking details with us so we can conduct the call. See “Third-Party Services We Use” below.
  • Location information you provide. Our Contact page displays an embedded Google Map. Loading this map does not require you to submit anything, but it does load content from Google’s servers — see below.
  • Website usage and analytics information. We use Google Analytics 4, connected through Google Site Kit, to understand how visitors use this website. This involves automatically collected information such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site. Google Analytics is disabled for visitors who are logged into our website as administrators.
  • Standard technical/server data. Like most websites, our hosting environment may log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, for security and performance purposes.

We do not currently operate a newsletter sign-up, user account system, advertising service, or online payment/booking checkout on this website, so we do not collect payment card details, show you ads, or create user accounts through the site.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Respond to your travel enquiries and requests for a consultation call;
  • Prepare and discuss travel itineraries, quotations and bookings you ask us to arrange;
  • Manage scheduled calls booked through Calendly;
  • Understand how visitors use this website and improve its content and performance, using aggregated Google Analytics data;
  • Maintain the security and proper functioning of this website; and
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act): where you voluntarily provide your personal data to make an enquiry or book a call, we process it on the basis of your consent, given by the act of submitting that information to us or to Calendly on our behalf, for the specific purpose of responding to your enquiry. Our use of Google Analytics also relies on your consent, given by continuing to browse this website with cookies enabled in your browser.

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies (for example, if you are located in the EU or UK), our legal bases are: (a) taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, where you ask us to prepare a travel quotation or itinerary; (b) our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries sent to us and in understanding aggregate website performance; and (c) your consent, for the Calendly widget, Google Maps and Google Analytics, none of which are strictly necessary for the website to function.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we have not determined whether the CCPA/CPRA applies to our business based on its statutory thresholds. If it does apply to you, the rights described under “Your Rights” below are available to you on request.
